Every Child Owes $44,000 – Keep this number from growing!

The new school year has begun. Your children are off to the classroom to start a new year of learning and self-betterment. What are you going to be doing during these 8 hours of time that might have just freed up in your schedule?

Just a few hours out of your day spent volunteering for the James White Campaign could tremendously help out our cause.

By volunteering just 2 hours out of your day you could significantly impact your future and more importantly the future of your children.

Big Government spending has put our nation 13.3 trillion dollars in debt. This means that each citizen, including EVERY CHILD, in America now owes $44,000 a piece to pay off our national debt. And this number is increasing by the day.

This Big Government/Big Spending philosophy WILL NOT WORK for us as Americans and it especially won’t work for us as TEXANS.

Each Family in America is has been feeling the effects of the liberal agenda politics that has been forced on Americans for the past 2 years.

It is time, NOW, for us as conservatives to stand up and restore prosperity to our great nation, to revitalize our communities back to the way they used to be, and to protect our children and their future.

This impacts YOU. Concerned citizens and parents can actively participate in this historic movement/cause by donating your time in getting James White elected.

There are several ways you can get involved. You can sign up to make phone calls from your house, you can volunteer at our Republican headquarters located on timberland drive next to Bodacious BBQ, or you could block walk your neighborhood to gain supporters in our district.

Sign up here or call the Republican campaign headquarters at 936-634-1979, or call the James White campaign line at 936-637-2400.

Remember it’s people like you who will help us win this race in November!

Your Property Rights are at Stake

Jim McReynolds, the liberal incumbent of District 12, claims that he has “defended our property against the Trans Texas Corridor.”

This statement could not be further from the truth.

In fact, the liberal incumbent has voted twice in support of the Trans Texas Corridor: once to create it [HB 3588] and once to expand it [HB 2702]. His disdain for the property rights of Texans doesn’t stop there: He has voted for multiple bills that would have chipped away at our cherished values. Indeed, he voted against compensating property owners whose land access has been diminished through eminent domain [HB 2702 - 79 R].

The egregious misstatement that he “defended” our property does not come as a surprise from this entrenched politician who, for 13 years, has grown increasingly out of touch with his constituents. Sadly, it appears that Jim McReynolds thinks the citizens of District 12 are stupid.

It is more important than ever for this liberal incumbent to square with the citizens of District 12 by reporting honestly for his votes in the Texas Legislature. Rather, in a politics-as-usual manner, he chooses to engage in the politics of sound bites over the politics of substance. The good people of the District expect our politicians to tell us what we need to know, not what they think we want to hear.

As your next Representative for Texas’ District 12, I, James White, understand the God-given right to own property, first practiced by the settlers of this region. As a history and government teacher, I teach this regularly. I believe that the ownership of private property is a trademark of Texas and most certainly of District 12, where the homeownership rate exceeds even that of the state.

You can be sure that I will fight against huge land grabs of our precious farmland, and that I will support eminent domain only in the event that it improves the entire public welfare – and only if the landowner gets a fair market price for the land.

In order to reverse the devious politics of the liberal incumbent, I need your help.

I ask for your vote, and I ask for your time and resources in order to spread the word about the state of emergency in which our property rights stand.

Please use the links to the left to donate money and volunteer your time now in support of this issue and in order to advance a conservative agenda in the 82nd Texas Legislature.

Thank you for your work in defense of the values we hold dear.

God bless our precious land: God bless Texas.

Sincerely,
James White

Do You Know Your Incumbent?

The Democratic incumbent for District 12 likes to talk about how well the Texas economy is faring compared to other states. Yet, there are few indicators that he understands the struggles of his own East Texas constituents. Here are some of the facts:

  • The average unemployment rate for all four counties in District 12 is currently 9.7% – higher than the state average of 8.2% and higher than the national average of 9.5%.
  • Median household income is $13,000 lower in District 12 than in the rest of the state.
  • Over 20 percent of the population lives in poverty in District 12, much higher than the 15.8 percent statewide.
  • Worse yet, almost 30 percent of children are living in poverty in District 12.

Outside the District, Texans are weathering the economic storm quite well.  This is thanks to the good public policies of Texas’ conservative Republican leadership – the same policies that this Democratic incumbent has fought vigorously to oppose and reverse – and the same policies that, if undermined, would have caused further unemployment, an even greater tax burden, and even more pervasive poverty and crime in the state and District.

Fortunately, conservative Republicans have defeated many attempts by this Democratic incumbent to implement an extreme left-wing liberal agenda. Let’s look at what the state would look like if the incumbent had his way. For just a moment, imagine that all Texas legislators had voted in sync with this Democrat:

  • Texas would have killed off jobs at an unimaginable rate: The incumbent would have implemented higher payroll taxes for employers [HB 1], higher property taxes for citizens [HJR 1], gas taxes [HB 3540], and “granny” taxes on nursing homes [HB 3778], not to mention tax credits for employers that outsource jobs overseas [CSSB 1].  These taxes are not only job killers in that they institute disincentives for employers to hire; they place a crippling tax burden on ordinary citizens who are already strapped in this difficult economic climate.
  • Texas would have given to foreign citizens the right to vote in American elections: The incumbent would have given numerous rights to illegal immigrants, including providing them health insurance [HB 1], allowing them a Texas driver’s license [HB 25], and letting them pay in-state tuition [HB 1403].  Moreover, he voted numerous times to circumvent the photo ID laws [HB 218], which would have facilitated access to the voting booth for illegal immigrants who, evidenced by their illegal entry, have demonstrated a blatant disregard for our legal processes.
  • Texas would have trampled on the property rights of private citizens: The incumbent would have allowed the state to seize a citizen’s personal property to pay for a business’ property taxes [HB 1910], and he voted against compensating property owners whose land access has been diminished through eminent domain [HB 792].  This incumbent voted to create the Trans Texas Corridor [HB 3588] and later voted to expand it [HB 2702].  He voted to grant eminent domain power to regional mobility authorities, and he voted to deny additional protection against eminent domain powers by opposing a feasibility study before Government could condemn private property [HB 1387].
  • Texas would have waived the white flag in the War on Drugs: The incumbent voted against requiring drug dealers and users to be arrested when caught with marijuana [HB 2391]. He voted to require probation instead of jail time for murderers, rapists, and other felons when caught with illicit drugs such as heroin, cocaine, LSD, ecstasy, and other illegal narcotics [HB 1610]. He voted to authorize a pilot needle exchange program [SB 10], which would have brought Texas just steps away from the full legalization of drugs.

This Democratic incumbent is not only out of touch with the honest, hard-working citizens of District 12. His actions in the Texas Legislature have run in full opposition to the ideals that every Texan and every American holds – the right to own property, to vote, to enjoy the fruits of his labor, and to live in a safe community without fear of crime and drugs.

This November, you have the opportunity to ensure that the policies of this Democratic incumbent are shelved once and for all.  Today, you can make a difference by donating on our website and forwarding this email to your families, friends, neighbors, and coworkers to remind them of the importance of the vote this November.  A vote for James White is a vote for the conservative policies and ideals that make Texas the best state in the nation and will allow District 12 to become a thriving region once again.

God bless the good citizens of this District and God bless Texas!

Sincerely,

James White

James White Responds to Today’s Arizona Ruling

An Arizona US District Court has issued  today a partial injunction Arizona’s law SB 1070 in regards to illegal immigration into their state.

Judge Susan Bolton has made it clear that she is deeply skeptical of the Department of Justice’s argument that the Arizona law is an illegal preemption of federal law. She blocked some of the toughest provisions in the Arizona illegal immigration law from going into effect tomorrow, putting on hold the state’s attempt to have local police enforce federal immigration policy, but let stand laws to discourage the hiring of illegal immigrants.

All governments have the inherent power to maintain public safety and the security of its citizens. Therefore the state of Arizona was justified in its actions of defending its citizens and enforcing existing federal regulations and border security.

James White, candidate for Texas State Representative District 12,believes that states have the right to defend their borders using the appropriate amount of force deemed necessary by the situation.

“It’s unfortunate that our federal government has used a substantial amount of wealth and time fighting the states in the courts instead of working cooperatively with all state leaders throughout the country in securing our borders,” says James White.

Although HD 12 Incumbent Jim McReynolds (D) speaks publicly about East Texas values, he continues to vote Washington values by supporting illegal immigrants and their voting rights. He arrogantly voted in favor of SB 89, Amendment 4, 79R that would have allowed illegal immigrants to use foreign issued ID as proof of identification to vote. He also callously voted against legislation, HB 218, 80R, which would have required voters to produce a photo ID, prevented voter fraud, and protects ballot integrity. The incumbent even voted to let illegal immigrants get an official Texas driver’s license, HB 25, Amendment 2, 78R; HB 396,77R.

“This is an issue of public safety.  It is important that Texas does not issue drivers licenses to illegal immigrants to keep our state safe.” James White said.

James White is strongly in favor of state governments using all the appropriate and necessary measures to protect the borders, uphold the Constitution, enforce immigration law and establish domestic order and tranquility.

James White will co-sponsor any Arizona-like immigration law that empowers Texas and Texans to secure our own border.

“We need to protect the integrity of our American system.  I, James White, vow to protect the great state of Texas and the great country of America, by securing our borders, and protecting our citizens to the fullest extent of the law and to the best of my abilities. “
